REDFLOW 4k & HD workflows

About this course:
This course is specifically designed for clients wishing to enter the world of 4k and HD file based workflows using the revolutionary RED ONE camera and associated software and hardware post production applications. Your two trainers have proven experience of the end-to-end work flows available from real-life projects produced by Sequence Post for BBC (among other high profile clients). They will guide you through setting up your equipment properly, filming and then editing that footage using RED software, Final Cut Pro and Apple’s Color grading package.

Recommended skills required before this course:
Understanding of basic camera and editing terminology. Fluency with Apple Mac OS.

  • The role of the DIT (Digital Image Technician)
  • Software and hardware for in the field DITs

Day 2

  • Accessing and understanding your R3d files
  • Transfer and manage your data safely
  • Using proxy files to preview your raw material
  • Categorising and organising your rushes using RED software
  • One-light colour correction
  • Transcoding
  • Proxy workflow
  • QuickTime outputs
  • Creating rough edits
  • Using native Prores in FCP
  • Renaming conventions
  • Exporting EDL/XML files from FCP
  • Relinking & conforming your files
  • Basic primary and secondary grades in Color
  • Digital deliverables
  • Troubleshooting

Duration – 2 Days
